About us
It all began with one razor obsessive — Kosaku Ota, the founder of this brand.
Not a collector chasing rarity, but someone endlessly dissatisfied. He was searching for a razor that felt right in the hand, behaved honestly on the skin, and would grow better with time instead of being replaced.
When he couldn’t find such a tool, he decided to make one himself.
That pursuit led him to design a razor in Japan, where materials and manufacturing are treated with deep respect. Two types of stainless steel were selected with clear intent: SUS304 for the handle, chosen for its strength, corrosion resistance, and balanced weight; and SUS316L for the head, selected for its superior resistance to moisture and its ability to maintain precision where the blade matters most.
The razor is finished with a machine finish, intentionally preserving the subtle machining marks left by the manufacturing process. Rather than hiding these marks beneath a polished gloss, they remain visible as an honest expression of how the tool is made. Each piece carries slight variations — a quiet signature of Japanese machining, where precision is valued over decoration.
This razor was never meant to impress at first glance.
It was made to be used — every day, for years — developing character through routine and care.
What started as one person’s obsession became a simple philosophy:
to make honest tools in Japan, built to last, and meant to be trusted.
